Massive Attack

Emerging from Bristol in the early nineties, Massive Attack were at the forefront of the trip-hop sounding emanating from the area. Their debut album, Blue Lines,was widely acclaimed, with "Unfinished Sympathy" one of the most popular songs from it.Voted the "greatest song ever" by Radio 1 listeners in 1998, this song was heralded as revolutionary for it's use of traditionally classical instruments such as pianos and strings in what was a dance track.Shara Nelson's haunting vocals add another layer of emotion to a track that's hardly short of feeling, and completed by choice scratching, this track was even covered by Tina Turner, who scored a French top ten hit with her version.
