A total and complete sucker for anything Marvin Gaye, my first impression upon hearing this remix of "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing" was pure audible jubilation.Compared to the late 60s version featuring Tammi Terrell's soulful vocals, this rework gives an interesting houseified twist with a slight disco kick. Adding some steady beat pressure that surrounds Terrell's sunny vocal crescendos, PillowTalk really seizes the essence of the original workings of this American R&B soul duo. While it may be redundant to compare these two tracks, because let's face it, nothing compares to The Real Thing (ha-ha), just give this track a chance -- even if you aren't a fan of soul."The Real Thing" is part of Wolf + Lambs' W+L Black Edits, which can be downloaded fo free here.
