When I was a young child, one of my favorite books was The Great Kapok Tree
. I longed to visit the rainforest. Then, 16 years later, I was there.
There's a certain buzzing, electric feeling you get when hiking through dense jungle. Maybe it's the constant sound of insects and birds and animals; maybe it's the sound of waterfalls in the distance. It makes you feel alive and alert, yet relaxed and calm, all at the same time.
