Pretty Lights

When I saw Pretty Lights play at Outside Lands, I was surprised at how similar he sounded to Emancipator. I literally shouted to Indie Shuffle's Taylor Fife that "This is just like Emancipator, but funkier!" Then this morning, I bumped into the song "High School Art Class", and couldn't resist but make it Song of the Day.It's no surprise to me that Derek Vincent Smith, better known as Pretty Lights, has supported DJ Shadow. It's also no surprise that he's a regular on the festival circuit. "High School Art Class" is the first track off his second EP, Spilling Over Every Side. What's particularly notable about the EP (the second of three) is the notable track-length, and this opening track is no exception: clocking in at over 8 minutes, we sincerely hope it will keep you entertained here.You can download free Pretty Lights music here.
