I was going to wait for an indie remix or cover of this song, but the deliciousness of this track overrides any sense of loyalty to indie music, and I figured you probably really wanna hear this. Is there anything more attractive than the androgynous vocals of the artist formerly known as Prince singing along to a sensual funk?
“Breakfast Can Wait” oddly makes me want to have some waffles drizzled in warm syrup with some fresh OJ, although that’s not quite the point. Prince sings, “Fresh cup of coffee, no, I’d rather have you in my glass.” Classic.
The best part of this release, aside from the song itself, is visiting his website where there’s a three-eyed girl shhhsing you along with a rush of galactic drone and nothing left to do but buy his music.
