Anyone that really knows me (aka anyone’s who’s anyone) knows that I think there are few things better in life than blondes and music. I literally salivate when those are smashed together seamlessly to make a beautiful combination.
Enter Reva DeVito. The Catnip Collection is her debut EP containing five tracks that are all different and yet play together as if they’re childhood friends. In these five tracks, she squeezes in some indie pop, funk, R&B, and jazz to create a sultry neo-soul sound. The Portland singer’s voice almost mocks you, knowing it doesn’t really need all the instrumentals and beats to back it up. Word on the street is that a full LP is due to make an appearance in early 2011; I would imagine it will be to blame for a baby boom.
Reva is still unsigned… I’m confused. Someone needs to get on that.
