Ever since Rhye's "Open" popped up on my radar, I haven't been able to get enough. We've featured the original plus a couple remixes on the site before, but today I'm feeling this synth-driven rework by JT Donaldson. Yeah, his DJ moniker might not be the most prolific-sounding, but this Brooklyn beatmaker definitely knows how to add a fresh spin to a truly special track.If this is your first time hearing "Open" don't fret "“ this version stays decently true to the originals sexy and mellowed-out vibe but it adds a nice cooling effect of electronicisms to keep things interesting. While the original is sultry, slowed-down and probably used mostly for baby-making, allow this rework to transport you to a beach or somewhere a little more spatial.
