As I stood among the eager drift of hipsters at Amoeba Records to watch Robyn sing acoustic versions of “Show Me Love” and “Dancing On My Own,” I knew I was tapping to the rhythm of a revolutionary reinvention. She brings a versatility in her voice and a musical innovation that is clearly on another level and ahead of the curve.
Her newest album, Body Talk Pt. 2 is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. A beautiful pop mish-mash of every genre. Robyn’s beats are fresh and her style is cool. After releasing Body Talk Pt. 1, she’s sneaking back into our hearts without massive commercial appeal and claiming her stake as one of the true indie-pop queens of our generation.
