Santé Les Amis

I love it when I discover good music from other countries -- especially South America. That continent has had a special place in my heart since I lived in Ecuador and backpacked around Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. I always knew that a lot of great music was coming out of the region, but I haven't really kept up with the emerging artist scene. Until now.Sante Les Amis is a six-piece band from Montevideo, Uruguay that has been playing since 2007 and from what I can tell has quite a large following already. I only spent one day in Uruguay (riding around the back of a scooter in Colonia de Sacramento -- I highly recommend it!), but now I wish that I had spent more time exploring the country and learning about the culture.The band's Morning Shine EP is a fun collection of electro rock tracks that you can't help but dance to. After doing some research, I learned that Sante Les Amis's live performances are known for being extremely creative, combining projected images with music.
