What's so good?

Slow Club released “Two Cousins” in mid June, and I’ve been seeing buzz for the duo build on the Internet since then. That’s not to say they’re a brand-spanking-new production — Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor have released one full-length (Yeah So, in 2009) and have been on tour multiple times, supporting bands like Tilly and the Wall (remember them?) and, more recently, Summer Camp.

Their music is reminiscent of the aforementioned bands, sharing the same folksy pop sound that’s perfect for cloud watching on a summer day. According to their label, Moshi Moshi Records, the band is known for playing “all sorts of weird instruments, like water-filled glass bottles, spoons and the back of a wooden chair. ” If that’s not reason enough to listen to them, I don’t know what is.

Slow Club has been busy making music videos (see below) and preparing for the release of their album Paradise, due out September 13. They’re also on tour in the UK this summer, so if you’re on the other side of the pond, check out their tour dates.
