What's so good?

Mark my words, Shufflers — Slowdance is about to explode. Hailing from Brooklyn, the band has got that smooth vintage electro pop down pat. They’re only beginning to explore the possibilities and so far, they’re offering up their debut EP, Light & Color.

Let’s start with the first song, “Cake.” What a classic energetic pop of glam rock! It’s upbeat, intricate, and slightly grungey. The rest of the EP is a melting pot of different approaches, all of which the band can pull off exquisitely. The song that we’re featuring on this post, “Sweetness,” is my favorite. It’s smooth, delicate, and just slightly off-kilter enough to give it that unique edge. The female lead singer alternates between singing songs in French and in English and either way, it’s all infectious.

The entire EP is a cut above the rest, to say the least. I have a feeling that Slowdance has a bright future ahead of them. So catch them if they are happening to play a show in your city and in the mean time, check out “Light & Color” and prepare to fall hard for this talented five piece.
