Downtempo With A Tropical Twist
Sunday Night Chill

What's so good?

When I was a young child, one of my favorite books was The Great Kapok Tree. I longed to visit the rainforest. Then, 16 years later, I was there.

There’s a certain buzzing, electric feeling you get when hiking through dense jungle. Maybe it’s the constant sound of insects and birds and animals; maybe it’s the sound of waterfalls in the distance. It makes you feel alive and alert, yet relaxed and calm, all at the same time.

Not long after my visit, I wrote a journal entry describing how I felt:

“At first, the constant rumble of the jungle keeps you awake, awake with curiosity and anticipation and longing. Then the jungle’s slow drumming begins to match your own heartbeat.”

Tonight’s Sunday Night Chill is a collection of songs that (somewhat) represent how I felt at that moment. I encourage you to close your eyes, and imagine the lush, humid tropics.
