What's so good?

For a virtually unknown young band, Sydney’s SURES have a big year ahead of them if the start of 2012 is anything to go by. The surf poppers were handed a support slot for Best Coast’s Sydney show in late January. They were then chosen as one of the Triple J Unearthed winners to appear at Laneway Festival alongside an incredible line-up which includes SBTRKT, Feist, The Drums, and M83.

Their track “Poseidon” is what surf pop is all about – heavy reverb, simple bass and percussion, with delicious harmonies drifting over the top. It’s easy to get lost in, sun-drenched and dreamy.

SURES’ music suits the Southern hemisphere summer to a tee. While everyone else suffering through the winter may have to wait a little while to break out their board shorts and Hawaiian shirts, SURES may prove the perfect distraction to your chills.
