What's so good?

Sykes are a five-piece indie pop band based in South London that formed about three years ago while in school. From what was originally an acoustic duo, Sykes have grown incredibly, receiving some pretty decent exposure by supporting The Wombats and headlining shows in and around London.

They’ve just finished their latest EP, Out Of Your Hands, with all three singles being worthy to review. But the title track “Out Of Your Hands” takes the cake, as I’m sure most of you will agree. It’s rather refreshing to hear a female vocalist in an indie rock/pop band (since the genre is usually dominated by male leads).

They’re work is very reminiscent of Operator Please, and they seem to have quite the knack of producing some very upbeat pop with some pretty handy guitar work. Sykes has a very bright future ahead of themselves.

What do you think?
