Tame Impala’s Lonerism has been an irrefutable hit across many countries and has been tweaked by several mixers, most of which we’ve featured on here before. Keeping up with this tradition, futuristic electronic artist Chrome Canyon gives us an emphasized synth mix of “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.”
This rework takes the original to a more expansive atmosphere, with lo-fi electronics and glimmering psychedelia coming in and out of orbit behind Kevin Parker’s rhythmic vocals. In comparison to other mixes we’ve heard, this is definitely more low-key in terms of additional bells and whistles, but what we do have here is an uncontrived version that sweeping and swarming in all the right ways.
