What's so good?

The New Originals is a fitting monicker for this quartet from Chicago. Aside from the Spinal Tap reference, with a median age of 17, they craft a sound that embodies the springtime of life. Layering bittersweet melodies with dreamy harmonies, they borrow the folk sensibilities of classic pop, while still injecting a modern influence.

Their first single, “Everywhere’s An Island,” defines the sound of being alone with just your headphones and a song. Produced by Gold Motel’s Greta Morgan, it also includes The Hush Sound’s Chris Faller on bass.
