The Australian band Atlas Genius have been all over our radar lately for their infectious indie pop singles like “Trojans.” So, the last thing I expected from the group was an acoustic cover of “Islands.”
The track was recorded when they visited Crown City Studios in Pasadena, California (they’re on tour right now). It’s one of the few acoustic covers I’ve heard (the majority of renditions we encounter are electronic remixes), but I think that serves the subject matter quite well.
Atlas Genius will be releasing their full-length debut album some time in early 2013, and we’re stoked to hear more.
