It’s a Modular kind of day. The Aussie label, home to both Tom Vek and Van She, just loaded a spectacular remix of Vek’s “Aroused.” Vek being on tour and Van She gearing up for a new release this year, I imagine the collaboration was easy to conjure.
Taking the track from a solid indie production straight to the dance floor, Van She’s remix leans upon spacey synths and repetitive vocal clips. Oh, oh, it’s so good. The remix lasts over six minutes, blending drifting, calculated textures together seamlessly. It’s shoegazed dance music, and it’s quite lovely.
The remix was released for free download (gracias, Modular!) in promotion for Tom Vek’s current tour, dates below. Sorry, people, it’s only a few sets and only down under.
