Produced, directed, and visualized by the 19-year-old Creator himself, “Yonkers” is Tyler, The Creator’s (of California collective OFWGKTA’s) first single off upcoming LP, Goblin.
Dark hip-hop has always fascinated me, and the video for “Yonkers” is nothing but the needle to my vein in this attraction. His self-produced beat is hypnotically mind-thumping as Tyler unsettles your stomach with a cockroach-handling stream of lyricism that goes out with a bang in the video’s last act.
It’s dark, it’s entertaining, and it’s shockingly uncut to the point where you can’t look away until you’re completely immersed in everything Tyler, The Creator stands for. Watch here, and enjoy.
