With artists like Deadboy and Jamie xx flush with their influences, as well as the world takeover of dubstep, UK garage — the sound from which it all emanated — is experiencing something of a revival.
Originally popular around the turn of this century, UK garage tracks are slowly sneaking into various DJ sets and mixes… and you’ll have probably heard one or two of these before. Especially if you frequent Indie Shuffle.
As an introduction to the genre, we’ve included a mixture of some famous and slightly lesser-known garage, which covers several of the key sounds which made this genre so popular.
