Why do we like this?
Here's some new beats for your radar. They sound like Bahwee dipped in neo-soul, with the occasional jazzy undertone, ghost snares, and dope R&B vocal samples. I'm digging how this track twists Musiq Soulchild into something even more soulful. It reminds me of the excellent Lapalux's Bootleg Remix. As one SoundClouder put it, this music is like "that kissy kissy between the sheets type thang." You could definitely say that again.
Suffice it to say I'm way impressed with this beat designer out of the University of Michigan. αtμ (almost pronounced like a sneeze, i.e. achoo) is Atupele Ndisale, a 20-year-old hip-hop enthusiast from Malawi, raised in five different countries. So not only is there some real awesome bits and bites behind his tracks - check out the little snippet of Larry David in The Choke Artist - but the guy himself just fucking sounds cool. And he doesn't only produce incredible beats to absorb, he puts it all out for free download. Solid.
αtμ recently dropped his ♥(V) EP, which Soulection says "encompasses the soul & bass vibes perfectly." No disagreement there. So enjoy this track and then head over to his SoundCloud for more good vibes. Personal favorites include rosario/dawson Come Back, and The Weeknd remix "Rolling Stone 2.0." Be sure to follow him on Tumblr, since you'll be craving to know what's next.
