Why do we like this?

Emerging indie-folk singer-songwriter Amaroun appeared on the musical scene about two months ago with the debut single "Bed Bugs." Today, I'm happy to welcome her to Indie Shuffle by presenting her newest release "The Fear."

The talented Northamptonshire artist has a unique and direct sound that stems from her multi-cultural upbringing and experimental yet identity-driven approach to music.

She balances different ends of the spectrum effectively, making her a multi-faceted artist. Her voice is lulling and simultaneously gritty; soothing when she wants with biting growls thrown in to call attention to her message.

"The Fear" is an inspiring track offering support and encouragement. It encourages the listener to persevere through difficult times with warm synths and comforting lyrics.

Aside from being a conscious and compelling storyteller, Amaroun works on the annual Greenstone Festival which allows artists to showcase their talents. Fan of poetry and spoken word? She does that as well. Check out her beautiful work "Corners" here and look for more releases from Amaroun throughout 2016.
