Why do we like this?

Arturo Garces might be from the west coast, but he's making some amazing midwest house.

Influences aside, I've heard from many DJs -- especially those who came up in the '80s -- that the west coast really knows how to have a party. Graces serves his house sunny side up, taking that midwest feel and adding a whole lot of soul, funk and disco.

"Looking For Strangers" is the frist track off his Looking For Strangers EP, which drops some time soon via Robsoul. I haven't heard house this good since Detroit Swindle popped on the scene, and Garces' style is sure to remind you just what classic house is made of.
