When it comes to Aussie hip-hop, I'm not much of a fan. While the Hilltop Hoods will always have a soft spot in my heart (I'm an Adelaide boy so you can't say a bad word about them), when it comes to the new generation, only Briggs has managed to capture my attention. Until B Wise.
The Sydney rapper supported Freddie Gibbs on his recent tour and I was blown away by the young gun. His style is fresh and his sound isn't regurgitating the usual Aussie rap cliches that dominate the airwaves.
"40 Days" is Wise's newest single and a stellar introduction for new listeners. Nic Martin's soulful and summery, jazz-inspired production lays the foundations for Wise's smooth and undeniably catchy flow. Big things are to come.
