L.A.-based producer Beshken, or Ben Shirken, is back with his latest single "Right Time" featuring Soraya.
"Right Time" begins with slow organ sounds, a vocal solo, and delicate drum beats, gently building to the main verse. The melody is a lovely brand of R&B, with vocalist Soraya traipsing up and down through every phrase, adding ever-changing color and flavor to the track. The beats are fairly standard, but they've been embellished and decorated with little flicks, licks, and glitches that make the track really interesting.
I love how each layer has such an organic sound to it – the full track has a melodic, natural feel to it. Even the playful pitch shifts run smoothly throughout, and the overall vibe is so chill.
I really like the easy, flowing groove in “Right Time.” It's not overbearing, and it really gives you space to get into the swing of it. There's no drastic changes or drops throughout, and there's no need for one. There's beauty in the simplicity here.
