Having already worked with Mike Posner, Pharrell Williams, Childish Gambino, and Justin Bieber (among others), it is fair to say Blackbear is definitely no stranger in the music business. The talented songwriter, singer, and producer recently released his album, Deadroses. A personal favorite from that project is a track called “I Needed You.”
While a different version of the track has been online for quite a while now, Blackbear decided to switch it up and rework the track for the project. The muffled piano in combination with the bass, drums, and what seems to be a sample of a talking crowd throughout are the perfect background for him to showcase his talents, clearly touching the subjects of heartbreak and loss.
If you like what you hear, make sure you give the entire LP a listen. It is a good introduction for those not familiar with his work yet.
