I admit to not being the biggest fan of either of these guys, but I can't deny the appeal of this project. Bombé and Mr. Caribbean, whom I had never heard of before, present us with this clean, well-done mashup tape combining James Blake's compositions with Drake's poetic diatribes and larger-than-life soundscapes.
Sarcasm aside, this is a fun re-contextualization of both acts, merging their sounds without swaying too much in one direction. I think a telling surprise that is born from this mash-up is that it shows how similar the two's sounds are. I know I wouldn't have thought it that way.
