Three months ago, Cape Town's Das Kapital decided to remix Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," one of the most popular and widely recognized Justin Vernon songs. The remix (or "rerub") keeps with the simplistic rhythm of the song; he doesn't go overboard with the beat, or change anything that might butcher the track completely.
But does it work? I can't decide. It's so hard to imagine any of Bon Iver's tracks being redone in any capacity -- not to idolize him or anything, butFor Emma, Forever Ago is a pretty incredible creation (and one of my favorite albums to date).

Today's Bonus track is another Bon Iver-influenced song, this time done by Kanye West. His latest album, My Beautiful DarkTwistedFantasy, features a ton ofcollaborations with other artists, although his teaming up with Justin Vernon was the most surprising to me. "Lost in the World" samples from Bon Iver's "Woods," off of his last EP, Blood Bank. Although I know that not everyone will enjoy the Vernon/West lovechild, it's entertaining to hear the contrast, to say the least.
