Why do we like this?

Tasmania, the small island off the south coast of Australia, is often forgotten by the uninformed (people often confuse it with New Zealand!). Its music community hasn't been highlighted in recent times, but one of the acts currently bucking that trend is young production duo Close Counters.

The project started a year back, and Finn Rees and Allan McConnell (just 17 and 19 years old) recently released their debut EP. "Fluctuate" is one of the strongest singles off it. While the record is quite varied, fans of Disclosure and AlunaGeorge will absolutely love this one -- a polished, dance-friendly track that features vocals from fellow Tasmanian Brooke Jones.

Given their tender age, they've got plenty of time to grow into themselves musically, but there's plenty of potential here. Check out the entire EP here.
