Tyler Harden, Callum MacDonald and Braxton Tahi are from Australia’s Golden Coast, and they call themselves daste.
"Telephone (What’s your name)" is the second song on their new EP, Same As It Ever Was, released April 15th. Being it was the first song they made for the EP, it helped them set the tone for what this effort would be, and boy is it smooth.
The instrumentation is decadent and sensual, the lyrics talk about fantasies and overflowing feelings for someone. Everything about it communicates that feeling of isolation and desire. It is jazzy, funky and way too cool to be ignored. It is night time music.
The entire EP is wonderful and you should give it a listen. Hope you do.
