Why do we like this?
Hold onto your pants! You're in for an awesomely surprising treat. Fort Romeau has released an incredible remix (exclusively for FACT Magazine) of Dauwd's 2011 hit "What's There." In itself, this is noteworthy; however, the most interesting thing about the release is that Fort Romeau is also the keyboardist from La Roux, which probably 99.9% of you would never guess from this release - I know I sure didn't.

The remix is smooth and calculated drawing upon spaced out synths, rotund bass notes, and soft and supportive druming. There's a little pep in "What's There"'s step, making an already phenomenal tune enjoyable in a happier, more dancable manner. All sparkle and no fade, Fort Romeau's take is perfect for any 3am gathering.

Fort Romeau's diversion from the style of his well known project La Roux is parallel to Jamie xx's solo venture outside of The XX - both came from highly notable groups but moved into their own niche giving their solo acts a name and veneration of their own. There is a maturity that exists in this release which we can hopefully look forward to more of in the near future.

This, ladies and gents, isn't another girl meets boy.
