Why do we like this?
If you're looking closely you might have noticed that I put Nirvana in the "sounds like" section of this song review. I think it's the guitars on this song that really draw that comparison, though perhaps it's just an overall gut feel.
The subject matter of Evi Bosman's "Lose A Friend" is fairly dark and apparently went through 10+ iterations before finally landing on something that conveyed how hard it is to lose a friend. It clearly landed in a pretty good place because this song managed to pull me in on its first listen and I haven't really grown tired since.
This is the Dutch artist's second single, following up the more folksy "Something Safe To Dream Of," which was released earlier this year.
