Why do we like this?

I love the idea of slacker rock. Making rock music like you just don't care! Haha. Jokes aside, slacker rock is serious stuff and he's an excellent taste of some that I'm almost certain you haven't heard before.

So who is Galkin? He's a young guy born in Russia playing the violin. He moved to Toronto as a teenager playing a bunch of instruments and now he makes music out of his homemade studio.

He's made that much music that "Out To Lunch" comes off an entire debut LP called Chagrin Seasons. He credits a range of influences for his sound, ranging from Soviet cartoon soundtracks to Cuban guitarists. Can you hear those in this track?
