Gold Spectacles have been doing a bit of an "Oh Wonder" with their new album. That is, they've been releasing roughly 1 song per month in the lead-up to it.
Except that their releases are slightly different. Rather than dropping them on the 1st of each month, they're dropping them alongside each full moon. This one comes as the 11th, and the album is due on November 15th. Which probably means there's at least 1 more song up their sleeves...
"Stranger Than You" has a lovely male-female trade-off going, and reminds me a lot of one of my recent-favorites, Rubblebucket. Apparently the duo wrote the bassline first and built the rest of the song from there. And for that, I'm drawing up a comparison to Men I Trust.
Overall, top-notch stuff.
