Having launched their debut album Prayer Before Birth at the end of October and now receiving rave reviews from the likes of The Guardian, London-based quartet Hejira have just appeared on my radar with their dark, atmospheric, genre-defying sound.
The album is filled with fuzzy vocals and capably crafted melodies, imbuing each track with its own distinct character. While the band released "Gypsy Of The Soul" as their new single on November 15, "Litmus Test" is the record's bold opener: a swelling sonic mirage of tentative strums, bewitching vocals, moody drums, and distorted guitars that make for a seriously captivating listen.
