Why do we like this?
I didn't even realize Jamiroquai was still a thing until yesterday, when they announced the release of their eighth album, Automaton.
Seven years on from 2010's Rock Dust Light Star, the self-titled single from the new album is everything you'd expect from a Jamiroquai jam. There's traces of funk, soul, and krautrock filtered throughout the electronic goodness of "Automan," with Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay's familiar vocals a welcome return.
Whether we need new Jamiroquai is an argument for another day, but having listened to "Automan" a number of times today, there's no doubting it's another head bobbing tune from the UK act.
Automan is set for release March 31.
