Rewind to October last year, when we first laid ears on Japanese Wallpaper's 'debut' "Breathe," a track that placed the (then) 16-year old producer (Gab Strum) on the map. This release set off a chain reaction of appreciation and awe, with the single currently sitting at a touch under 200k plays on Soundcloud -- not to mention plenty of local radio support.
One track does not make a career however, so his follow up was bound to be met with plenty of anticipation. That time is now upon us, with Strum sharing his latest single "Waves" earlier today. Featuring the dreamy vocals of Jinja Safari front-man Pepa Knight, it's a track as delicate as they come. Part icy-cool, part sun-drenched, he's created a soundscape of stunning beauty - one that really leaves you with little choice but to get swept away in.
Still in his last year of high school, the precocious Strum is continuing to develop his already considerable talents. A career of some significance clearly awaits, and we can't wait to come along for the ride.
