I’ve been waiting so, so patiently for M83’s Anthony Gonzalez to come out with material on par with Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Any mention of the act grabs my attention and ears. While this isn’t M83’s normal dark beauty, it is a surprise treat for fans.
Last month, Gonzalez and French composer, performer, and music producer Jarre released “Glory,” a sleepy number balancing both of their talents. The version you're hearing has the former Swedish House Mafia man's brilliant edits.
Angello massages this track into life. It’s still a quiet song, thankfully, but glows with new swirling electronic synths, beautiful echos, and perfectly timed fades. It gathers and peaks just before the four-minute mark, before simmering back down into a slow heat.
Regardless of which artist in this collaboration has your heart, I'm sure you will be pleased. I can sense all of M83’s magic, while appreciating Jarre and Angello’s distinct flavors.
It makes the waiting game that much easier.
