Why do we like this?

After being transfixed by his brilliant 2013 single "Midnight Run," we're very glad to premiere new music from Melbourne artist Jim Lawrie. No longer operating under his "Grizzly Jim" moniker, he's moving on from his 2012 debut record to the release of his sophmore album, EONS, later this year.

Having enlisted a full six-piece band (featuring members of New Gods, Twin Beasts, and Covers), Lawrie's new creations see a fuller, richer sound. This statement rings true on his latest single "Just Like Normal,"  a stirring folk-rock track bound to draw comparisons to a number of legendary singer/songwriters. There's a classic Americana feel in this track's make-up, but Lawrie does just enough to maintain an Australian undertone to it.

EONS is due out in the shadows of 2014 -- keep an eye out for plenty more from (just) Jim in the coming months.
