Props to my friend Ryan for inadvertently giving me the initiative to post about Barcelona's amazing producer John Talabot, who is about to blow up all over Indie Shuffle. I've been listening to his productions for a while now but haven't made the jump to writing about this stellar artist. While perusing Hype Machine last week, I stumbled upon a truly infectious Talabot track my friend had hearted, so here we are.
Now, the important words: "So Will Be Now..." is a track from Talabot's January 2012 release called Æ’in, simply meaning "end" in Spanish. The single is very Wolf + Lamb / Soul Clap in its horizontally building house beat, subtle layers, snaps, and disco feel. Repeating vocals add an element of depth, with looped, indecipherable chatter in the background. As a writer I should probably think of a better adjective, but honestly the production is just, well, dope. Coming from such an provocative, sexy country, it's no wonder his tracks mimic these same attributes.
