"GUBBA is entirely self-produced and bludgeons like a doom record sped up to garage-punk tempos. GUBBA is faster, heavier and more direct than its predecessors. GUBBA is pop music with a scummy outer layer. GUBBA is not angry, but likes to have fun. Who the f*ck is GUBBA?"

GUBBA is the upcoming third album from Sydney native Jonathan Boulet, who spent a year in Berlin creating his latest full length -- apparently without crack!

"Hold It Down" is the first release, and sets the tone for what looks to be a considerable change-up for the talented enigma. More frantic and heavier than a lot of his previous work, this new release is absolutely doing it for me, and I'm very interested to hear what he has in store for us.

Gubba is out July 18 via Pop Frenzy.
