Spiritual Wildlife
I have always loved Jose Gonzales, not only because they were my first dip into the world of indie-folk, but also because I can never listen to a Gonzales song without feeling some version of immense calm.
"Visions" is, in the purest of words, a holistic and spiritual experience, everything about this song is earthy, natural, and untouched by the new age of production. Jose Gonzales has always been a purveyor of pure sounds - whether sad, uplifting, honest, or loving. "Visions" is comforting...immensely so. It is the literal sound you'd hear when looking out over your porch into the wilderness.
This song is a soft hug, a reassuring word, and an immensely enthralling experience that doesn't disappoint, it doesn't mislead, and like most Gonzales songs it teaches us in a very calm, collected, and powerfully comforting way about the power of just breathing in peace and quiet.
