Tiesto's remixes are are usually really good. Take this Imogen Heap remix of "Hide and Seek," or this Tegan and Sara retake. Both of them have a bit of house feel to it -- particularly where the percussion is concerned.
The same can be said of this remix of Jose Gonzalez's "Crosses." The umph umph umph is the defining factor of what makes it different from the original. For those of you concerned about that this messes up the song, wait until the 1:30 mark. At that point in time it becomes completely clear that Tiesto's approach works, and it works well.
