English lovely Katy B dropped a new single today in the form of the clubby "5 AM." I really dug her debut On A Mission, with its mixture of upbeat dance production and Katy's made-for-pop vocals really hitting the spot. Set to be taken from her forthcoming sophomore effort, What Love Is Made Of, "5 AM" is another electro boomer, with Katy wandering the club looking for some "love like valium." In other words, she wants to get laid.
In my humble opinion, Katy is just as talented and buzzworthy as fellow UK artists Jessie Ware, Charli XCX and Little Boots, and deserves the same success and recognition. Here's hoping What Love Is Made Of lives up to my expectations and catapults her into mainstream success.
