What an absolute treat this track is.
"Catapult" is the latest single from enigmatic German artist Lena, who first emerged in 2010 as Germany's Eurovision entrant, eventually winning the glitzy contest with track "Satellite."
The all-female collaborative track also features Lena's longtime collaborator Kat Vinter and rising hip-hop artist Little Simz (who, by the way, has just blown me away with her debut album, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons).
Somewhere smack bang in between London Grammar and FKA Twigs falls Lena, and the wonderful, vast, emotive "Catapult." Managing to be both understated and indulgent at once, the wide atmosphere traipses between sweeping, ambient chords led by airy vocals, and dramatic sparsity, particularly during Simz's punchy guest verse.
"Catapult" is the latest single released off Lena's fourth album Crystal Sky, which was released in May this year.
