Why do we like this?

One of the better elements to music remixes is when the artist chopping up a track manages to completely change the vibe, yet in doing so create an auditory masterpiece. With the two tracks featured in today's Song of the Day, Wallpaper has taken two recognized tracks and provided them elements that transform and enhance their melodies.

My favorite, certainly, is his remix of "Strange Things" off Local Natives' Gorilla Manor. The layered guitar, key changes and funky style bring to light a whole new song that in no way jeopardizes or challenges the original work. Rather, it highlights the fantastic melodic work executed by Local Natives on their debut.
