"If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out" — a rather simple way to live life open-handedly.
I've heard it taught before that there are three types of sufferings we, as humans, face: the suffering of encountering that which we do not want, the suffering of losing what we have, and the suffering of not getting what we want. They all take place within the metaphorical fist that holds on too tight, and are counteracted by the open hand that arrives with the thought 'whatever happens, happens.'
Loverground's "Whatever Happens, Happens" is a nice reminder of this approach to life and, smooth as it is, stretches out like a slide, upon which we can wind our way through life, hopefully landing in a splash of fun and joy, ready to laugh at whatever appears.
Speaking to the track, Kevin Erlicher, AKA Loverground, says:
It sets the mood for the rest of the EP, out this summer on Majestic Casual. I wanted to mix light-hearted, clubish/summer-y sounds with a deeper, meaningful message. The lyrics say 'No need to worry about the future, cause you won’t get to know, the moment is right now.' That's the message that I want to get out there: no need to worry, whatever happens, happens.
These funky beats you've got in your ears right now serve as the title track of the EP, Whatever Happens, Happens, out June 2nd via Majestic Casual.
