Why do we like this?

M.I.A. and love songs don’t go hand in hand, but it seems the eclectic artist is showing her tender side on latest single “Unbtreak My Mixtape,” taken from her long awaited fourth album Mantangi.

The break-up song finds a much more sombre M.I.A. singing over a progressive, old school beat that samples Blur’s “Tender” and Karen Dalton’s “I Love You More Than Words Can Say.” Yeah, that’s a Blur song you’re hearing.

Unusual samples aside, “Unbreak My Mixtape” shows M.I.A. can be subtle and emotional without losing the dance-like vibe of recent singles “Bring The Noize” and “Only 1 U.”
