Malady's "London, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down" hooked me from the start, and with each successive listen I find myself a little more attached. For me, this track is like King Krule meets Jamie T and with the nostalgia that Jamie T brings, I wasn't going to pass this up.
Frontman Percy Junior Cobbinah, brings to life a love-hate relationship with the city in which he and many others live. I think we all have our own 'London', it may not take the form of high-rises, coffee shops, and bustling streets but somewhere, in the space of all our lives, there's something we love that brings us down.
It looks like "London, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down" is Malady's first release and I'm hoping that Percy Junior Cobbinah (vocals/guitar), Charlie Clark (guitar/synth), Ertan Cimen (drums), and Khaleem Mitchell-Patterson (bass) feel like they have enough oomph for a second.
PSA: oomph is a real word -- who'da knewn it? With sentences like that, clearly not me.
