In Buddhism it is said we are in an age called The Age of Dregs. It's a degenerate age where our afflictions run high. In some way, it's a Little Dark Age. We have created a myriad of ways to keep ourselves entertained, moving from one distraction to the next.
On that note, MGMT's video for their latest song "Little Dark Age" is so highly captivating that it kind of fits in with the predictions. It's distinctly visual, completely bizarre and whimsically confusing. In a way, it's two experiences in one – the video and the music. Our minds can happily hop from one to the other, both alleviating us momentarily from our subjectivity.
As richly absorbing as "Little Dark Age" is, the question still stands, are we ever satiated? Will our craving for distraction cease? If prediction serves correctly, most probably not, in which case, after listening to MGMT's "Little Dark Age" read up about the album here, and then shuffle on from there.
